Welcome to the Career Passport Project!
In partnership with Asian Services in Action and Cleveland State University, refugee students enrolled in the Lakewood City Schools have the opportunity to learn valuable career, academic, and cultural literacy skills to bring them closer to their community and to bring their community closer to them.
Asian Services in Action (ASIA), founded in 1995 by four Asian immigrant women, has a mission to empower and advocate for Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders (AAPIs); and to provide AAPIs access to quality, culturally, and linguistically appropriate information and services. The agency was founded under the premise that with the right support to individuals and families, the community will flourish and thrive.
The Career Passport Project was created by Jessica Stringer and Shane Sullivan, students in the Center for Educational Leadership program at Cleveland State University. As part of their ongoing course work, Stringer and Sullivan created the summer Career Passport Project to empower refugee students in Lakewood to learn about career and academic opportunities in their community. Conversely, Stringer and Sullivan hope the community will reach out to these wonderful students.
